Maktab Class Overview
Our evening Qur’aan and Islamic Studies classes — commonly known as Madrassah or Maktab — are open to children aged 4 and above. These classes provide a strong foundation in reading the Qur’aan, learning Islamic values, and developing a love for their faith in a nurturing and supportive environment.
At Bilal Academy, we are proud to use the An Nasihah Islamic Curriculum — a long-awaited, engaging, and child-friendly series developed for young Muslims growing up in today’s world. Spanning eight years, this structured programme combines traditional Islamic education with a modern approach that keeps students interested and inspired.

Curriculum Overview by Year
Years 1–2
Basic Aqaa’id (beliefs), simple Fiqh (wudhu & salaah), short surahs, basic manners and duas.
Years 3–4
Seerah (life of the Prophet ﷺ), Islamic history, daily rulings, more detailed fiqh, and memorisation.
Years 5–6
Deeper understanding of Hadith, advanced fiqh (fasting, zakah), Islamic etiquette, and social responsibilities.
Years 7–8
Preparing for adult responsibilities, Islamic worldview, personal development, and deeper studies in Qur’aan and Hadith.

The aim of our evening classes is to teach children the foundational and fundamental aspects of Islam in a fun, engaging, and interactive classroom environment. Through a carefully structured curriculum, we focus not only on knowledge but also on character development. Upon completing the syllabus, our students are shaped into well-mannered, confident, practicing British Muslims who benefit themselves, their families, and the wider society.
